After the September 11 attacks, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace contrasted Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney’s opinions on “the existential menace of Trumpism” to the threat posed by radical Islamic terrorism, even bringing up the congresswoman’s father, former Vice President Dick Cheney.
In a part of her show “Deadline: White House” on Wednesday, Wallace made the remarks regarding the committee’s meeting on January 6.
One of the things she stated was Liz Cheney’s assessment of the existential risk that Trumpism poses to our democracy, which she described as glowing red.
“In the days, weeks, and years following 9/11, we collaborated at work. She and, to be honest, her father both discussed the peril the country faced in the wake of 9/11 in the same manner.”

Wallace then turned to Michael Beschloss, NBC News presidential historian, and said, “She views Trump as an existential menace to our democracy.”
Beschloss responded by saying that Cheney’s contribution “makes a significant difference,” admitting that Trump is a “threat to democracy,” and thanking God for Cheney.

Wallace then added, “She regards Trump as an existential risk to our democracy,” turning to NBC News’ presidential historian Michael Beschloss.
In his response, Beschloss praised God for Cheney, acknowledged that Trump is a “threat to democracy,” and said that Cheney’s participation “makes a huge difference.”
