Republican lawmakers demanded in a letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Tuesday that several attacks by a pro-choice group be labelled as acts of domestic terrorism.
Republican Reps. Greg Steube, Jeff Duncan, Jody Hice, and Lauren Boebert signed the letter, which cited alleged acts of violence by the pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge and expressed their concern about the government’s response to the group’s actions and devastation. The letter was spearheaded by Oklahoma Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin.
Since a draught Supreme Court opinion indicating a potential Roe v. Wade reversal was released, clinics that help women during crisis pregnancies have been the target of attacks by the ane’s Revenge.
The letter is titled, “We are requesting that the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation formally designate those committing crimes under the guise of Jane’s Revenge as domestic terrorists due to their obvious involvement in acts endangering human life.
The Republicans’ letter is in response to a statement Jane’s Revenge made last Wednesday on what appears to be its website, in which it took credit for a variety of “actions.”
The group uttered: “You have seen that we are real and do not merely peddle meaningless sentiments.
Any anti-choice organisation that closes shop and ceases to exist will no longer be a target, the group continued. However, the field is open and we are aware of your location until you do. The masters’ infrastructure won’t last. Never will we give up, falter, slack off, or reverse course.
“Jane’s Revenge’s recorded attacks on pregnancy clinics across the nation over the past two months have us writing with extreme concern.
This group poses a threat to American pregnant moms, many of whom need assistance immediately, according to the letter.
The letter reads, “In response to their clear engagement in acts threatening to human life, we are asking the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to legally identify people perpetrating crimes through Jane’s Revenge as domestic terrorists.
The Republicans’ letter is in reaction to a statement Jane’s Revenge posted on what seems to be its website last Wednesday, in which it claimed responsibility for several “activities.”
The group said, “You have seen that we are real and that we are not just selling hollow platitudes.
The group went on to say that “any anti-choice group that shutters its doors and stops operating will no longer be a target.”
But until you do, the field is open, and we are aware of your whereabouts. The infrastructure of the masters won’t last. We won’t ever give up, falter, slow down, or turn back.
