P-EBT BENEFITS TEXT SCAM WARNING FROM THE STATE

HONDURAS — Following concerns from the public, the Hawai’i Department of Human Services (DHS) is alerting SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) beneficiaries and the wider public of a scam that uses texting to steal personal information.

The SMS gives a phone number to contact concerning P-EBT (Pandemic – Electronic Benefit Transfer) and falsely purports to be from the Hawaii Department of Human Services.

The department advises the general public not to call the number or reply to the text if they believe they have received it. Simply delete.
