To increase income generation in the state, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has promised to work with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS).
Shade Omoniyi, the KW-IRS executive chairman, received members of the FIRS at the agency’s Corporate Head Office in Ilorin, accompanied by the KW-IRS top management team.
During the meeting, Adama Isa, the Tax Controller who led the seven-man team to the KWIRS office, said that continued collaboration between the two agencies would ensure that eligible taxpayers in the state were captured effectively and appropriately into the tax net.
The courtesy visit, according to the FIRS official, was intended to enhance the FIRS-KW-IRS long-standing institutional relationship.
Adama praised the data-sharing partnership between the two revenue agencies and promised effective collaboration to ensure that qualified taxpayers in the state are captured adequately and appropriately.
The team also examined several topics of interest and concern for the state of Kwara in terms of increasing revenue.
Shade Omoniyi, the executive chairman of KW-IRS, also spoke at the event and thanked FIRS for its assistance in developing a streamlined tax administration.
The option for taxpayers to apply for a Tax Clearance Certificate online through the KW-IRS Self-Service Portal is one of the Service’s continuous improvements, according to her.
The KW-IRS boss promised that the state’s tax administration will continue to provide exceptional service, integrity, and efficiency and that the agency would not stop upgrading its systems to boost the state’s IGR.
