Although there has been no announcement of a new Federal stimulus check program in the United States, a Democratic Governor has recommended a fast track check for the people.
Though there was a lot of talk about the federal government providing a fourth stimulus check, statements from the White House suggested that it was a bad idea.
However, Colorado Governor Jared Polis has announced legislation that will provide financial help to qualifying American families.
In Colorado, a $400 stimulus check will be distributed.
Jared Polis teamed up with the state legislature to create a Cashback program with the goal of assisting medium and low-income families by delivering a $400 stimulus check.
The Governor’s announcement comes at a critical time, as the country’s inflation rate continues to rise on a daily basis.
According to the Labor Department, the country’s current inflation rate is 8.5 percent, which is the highest in the last 40 years.
Every day, individuals must pay more for necessities such as groceries, rent, petrol, medicines, and other goods and services. The expense of life is growing, and people’s purchasing power is gradually dwindling.
According to the Governor, the common people are not at blame in this scenario and should not suffer as a result.
Instead of keeping the residents’ money, he opted to return it to them in the form of a stimulus check. These cheques will be distributed to people who file their income tax returns by May 31, 2022.
Individuals would receive $400 and married couples filing jointly would receive $800 from this stimulus payment.
