A growing number of states are stepping up to offer financial assistance or other help to their residents. Pennsylvania is among them, with eligible people receiving a cheque worth up to $2,000 if they qualify.
According to BGR, Governor Tom Wolf has proposed sending direct payments of up to $2,000 to state citizens with incomes of $80,000 or less, using some of the money left over from President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan.
Who Will Receive the Checks for $2,000?
According to a news statement from Governor Wolf’s office, “the cost of everything from petrol to food is rising. For Pennsylvanians living paycheck to paycheck, that can mean unpleasant decisions.”
“Pennsylvanians deserve to be helped and given a chance to succeed. “However, my Republican colleagues have over $2 billion in support that will have to be returned to the federal government if they don’t pass a plan,” the governor stated. Payment of $2,000 was filed under this heading.
Certain People May Receive a Smaller Check
According to The Sun, households with yearly incomes of $80,000 or less would get a one-time $2,000 payout under the Pennsylvania Opportunity Plan.
Wolf stated, “Working families are under pressure at a recent press conference.” Payment of $2,000 was filed under this heading. Other homes with earnings between $50,000 and $80,000, according to KDKA, would receive a one-time fee of $1,500.

Governor Wolf’s proposal would distribute $500 million in cash to qualified state residents from the $2 billion in federal funds left over from the state’s American Rescue Plan.
