The Golden State Warriors have become the new favorites to win the NBA Finals in 2022. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have been given greater odds to win the NBA title than any other club. They are on the verge of sweeping the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
With a 118-113 victory in Game 3 against Denver on Thursday night, Golden State established a 3-0 series lead. The Warriors’ ability to push the Nuggets off the court and win with a smaller group is reminiscent of the three championship teams that Golden State won between 2015 and 2018.
The Warriors are the obvious favorites to win the NBA Finals, with +280 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. With +500 odds to win the title, the Boston Celtics are in second place. The Phoenix Suns, who were favorites going into Thursday, are now in third place at +550.
After missing a month due to a foot ailment, Curry is back to his old self, averaging 25.7 points in just 25.0 minutes per game. Klay Thompson averages 22.0 points per contest. Draymond Green leads the team in assists, blocks, and steals with an average of 8.3 per game. In three postseason games, the Warriors have shot 54.2 percent from the field and 44.3 percent from the three-point range.
Jordan Poole’s emergence has changed the game for the Warriors and the rest of the NBA. With 28.7 points per game against Denver, Poole is Golden State’s best scorer.
Poole, Curry, Thompson, Green, and Andrew Wiggins have a net rating of plus-36.8 in 23 minutes.

While Golden State has finally gotten healthy at the perfect time, Phoenix has been plagued by ailments to begin the playoffs. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Devin Booker has a Grade 1 hamstring strain, which may cost the Suns guard two to three weeks of playing time.
The Pelicans won Game 2 of their first-round series against the Suns, tying it at 1-1. Booker scored 31 points in the first half of the game before suffering an injury in the third quarter.

Thanks to the league’s best backcourt, Phoenix had the most significant regular-season record in the NBA. Booker was a top-five MVP candidate with 26.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. With 10.8 assists per game, Chris Paul led the NBA.
The Suns are -300 underdogs in their matchup with the Pelicans. If Booker is down for an extended time, reaching the Western Conference Finals and facing the Warriors could be challenging.
