Actor Joseph Gatt was arrested on April 6 for alleged “contact with a minor for sexual offence,” according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The juvenile branch of the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force issued Gatt, 50, with a residence search warrant early on April 6, according to an LAPD news release.
“Online sexually explicit communication with a youngster across state lines,” the announcement claimed.
Detectives nabbed Gatt on an outstanding criminal warrant, the LAPD said.
Police are hunting for any further victims and ask that anyone with information contact them.
Gatt announced his release on Twitter on Wednesday.
“I certainly want to address the horrible and inaccurate charges recently made against me,” the statement said. “They are completely wrong and reckless. I verified the press release’s mistakes and misinformation. I am totally cooperating with the LAPD to solve this. I’m eager to clear my name.”
“For legal reasons, I cannot react further on social media,” he said after thanking his fans.
