The NBA regular season is over, and the Play-In Tournament kicks off the postseason. This mode is available in NBA 2K22, and TGH breaks it down for you ahead of the games on Wednesday night.
Overview of the NBA Play-In Tournament
The Action-In Tournament kicks off the postseason play by allowing four teams to compete for the last playoff in the Eastern and Western Conferences. Though clubs that make it through the early stages of the postseason give their fans optimism for a second chance at a championship, winning Play-In Tournament games earns them a matchup against the conference’s first and second seeds. The teams fight for the seventh and eighth seeds in the main NBA Playoff Bracket from seventh through tenth place.
NBA 2K22 inclusion
The Play-In Tournament mode is available in NBA 2K22 through the “MyCareer” and “MyNBA” game modes. Players can compete for a berth in the Eastern/Western Conference tournaments, which are playable just like the on-court competition. The challenge of making the NBA Playoffs is present in NBA 2K’s version of the Play-In Tournament, with the 1st and 2nd seeds and the game’s top-rated players/teams waiting in the wings. Considering season exhaustion and injury risks, the chances of winning a championship after surviving the Play-In Tournament in NBA 2K22 are slim.
Results of the Early Play-In Tournament
