In 2020, the pandemic EBT program (P-EBT) was launched. In 2021, the program was extended.
What is the P-EBT benefit and who is eligible?
As part of the P-EBT program, each qualified child received $6.82 every in-person school day. The maximum weekly benefit per child is $34. During the summer of 2021, the program was also available.
Not all children are automatically eligible. It is intended to assist students who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. P-EBT is available to students who are eligible for free meals through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
Due to pandemic-related school closures, the kid must attend school electronically or through hybrid learning.
In California, how long will it last?
P-federal EBT’s funding ran out after the 2020-21 academic year. California, on the other hand, plans to keep the program in place until 2022 to help low-income families.
In Florida, how long will it last?
P-EBT cards were still in use in 2021, and 2022 is expected to be the same. Florida intends to issue disbursements in stages during 2022.
